The following information should help you to know what vaccinations are given to cows, calves and weaned calves.

Different operations require different herd health programs.  This outline is just a basic program.  If you would like more information on what would be best for your cattle herd, please call and talk to Dr. Bynum.

COWS
*Blackleg 7-way.  Give once a year.
*IBR/BVD/PI3/BRSV+Lepto 5.  Give twice the first year and once a year thereafter.
*Deworm.  Spring and Fall is best.

CALVES (NOT WEANED, STILL ON COW)
*Blackleg
*IBR/PI3 (TSV-2).  A quick pneumonia protection.
*One Shot (for pneumonia) optional
*Implant.  Only if not keeping for replacement heifers.  Steers can be implanted if going to be sold.
*Deworm

WEANING CALVES (6+MONTHS)
*Blackleg 7-way
*One Shot (for pneumonia)
*IBR/BVD/PI3/BRSV+Lepto 5.
A modified live vaccine can be used as long as the adult cows have been vaccinated with this vaccine.
If adult cows have not been vaccinated with this vaccine, a killed vaccine needs to be used.
*IBR/PI3 (TSV-2) This is used for quick pneumonia protection.
*Deworm
